Addiction & Recovery Therapy
Compassionate, Recovery Focused Support for Navigating Addiction
Living with substance misuse or behavioural addiction can feel like an isolating uphill battle, affecting every facet of your life and relationships. Recovery is rarely a linear path, and traditional approaches don't always account for the unique complexities of your personal experience. I offer non judgmental, recovery focused support designed to help you regain agency and build a sustainable foundation for change.
I have additional training and experience supporting people affected by addiction and recovery, including alcohol, substance misuse, and behavioural addictions such as gambling. My role is not to "fix" or "cure," but to provide a safe, collaborative space where we can explore the patterns that no longer serve you and develop the tools necessary for a healthier future.
Building a Framework for Lasting Change
My work is grounded in empathy and practical action. By focusing on the underlying triggers and the daily reality of your environment, we work alongside medical services where necessary to ensure your safety and wellbeing remain the priority.
My support focuses on four key pillars:
Understanding Patterns & Triggers: Moving from reactive cycles to conscious awareness. We identify the internal and external cues that lead to misuse and develop robust, personalized strategies to navigate them.
Emotional Resilience: Addressing the root causes of addiction, such as trauma, stress, or self-medication. We work on building a "toolkit" for managing difficult emotions without the need for harmful coping mechanisms.
Relapse Prevention & Safety: Creating a practical roadmap for the long term. This involves building sustainable habits, identifying early warning signs, and establishing a support network that reinforces your recovery goals.
Family & Relationship Support: Acknowledging that addiction does not happen in a vacuum. I provide specialized support for family members affected by a loved one's addiction, helping them navigate their own boundaries and recovery process.
A Collaborative Partnership Toward Healing
Whether you are in the early stages of questioning your relationship with a substance or behavior, or you are looking for long term maintenance in recovery, this support is tailored to your specific needs.
We focus on the "here and now," working together to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. By fostering a partnership built on transparency and respect, we can create a path forward that honors your values and helps you reclaim a life of purpose and stability.
